Price of Breast Implants
The only way to find out the price of breast implants is to make a consultation with a plastic surgeon. This
month, we polled seven random cosmetic surgery practices cities across the United
States.

The average price of breast implants
from the information gathered is below. Since there are various ways and materials used to perform
breast augmentation, the cost will vary from patient to patient. Each patient's breast
augmentation procedure will be slightly altered to best suit their body and desired outcome.
Speaking with a plastic surgeon will make it easier to understand the final cost of breast augmentation, but
here is what influences the cost, and the range you should be expecting to pay.
What is the Price of Breast
Implants?
On average, you should
expect to pay anywhere between $3,850 and $9,500 for your breast augmentation. This is a very wide
range, and for good reason. There are several factors that influence the cost of breast implants. It
includes;
-
Cost of Materials - The first
factor that goes into the price of breast implants is the actual cost of the materials. This would include
the price of the implants themselves along with the saline or silicone that goes into them. On average,
this can cost anywhere from $850 to $1,600. The price varies due to the size of the implants, the material
the implants will be filled with, and the quality of the implants (all are safe for use, but some are made
better than others). Question to
Ask: What type of implant (silicone or saline) do you have more experience
with?
-
Anesthesia - With every medical
procedure, you will need to have some type of anesthetic. This is one of the most crucial parts when
figuring out the price of breast implants. The procedure is very rough on the body, so you will need to be
completely put under. Normally, this will cost anywhere between $650 and $1,100. This varies depending
on allergies and the level of skill of the anesthesiologist. More experienced members of this profession
demand a higher price.
Question to Ask: Will an Anesthesiologist and/or Nurse Anesthetist be present
during the entire procedure?
Office Fees - The use of the
office for the procedure will cost as well. This normally includes the recovery room, the cost of
sanitising the tools used during the procedure, and the actual room your procedure will be preformed in. In
most areas, this will be one of the more expensive parts of the procedure, running between $700 and
$1,500.
Question to Ask: Are your procedures done in your office, or at a hospital?
Surgeons Fees - Okay, this is
the most expensive part of having breast augmentation. Paying the surgeon to work on your breasts will be
the most expensive part of the getting implants, with most plastic surgeons never dipping below $1,500 for
the procedure. More skilled surgeons will charge much higher fees around $3,500, but they will provide more
reliable results.
Question to Ask: Can I see before and after photos of recent procedures that you
have performed?

-
When it comes to looking at
the price of breast implants, there are several things you need to consider. For one, price should be
a factor, but not the deciding factor in which surgeon you choose. If you are more comfortable with a
surgeon that is out of your price range, think about taking a bit more time to save...remember, once
you've had this procedure, there is no going back. You will have this alteration permanently, or you will
need to have several additional procedures performed to correct mistakes that occur from getting breast
implants. If you are considering having your breast augmented, then you should always go with an
experienced and well-trained plastic surgeon. Ask to see photos of their work and ask about their
credentials. In most cases, you should look for a board certified plastic surgeon. There are close to 5,000
in the United States, so finding one should not be an issue.
-
Finding, and paying for, a
more qualified plastic surgeon will probably provide you with better results. We've all heard the horror
stories that come from bad plastic surgery, and the chance of this occurring from a well trained, board
certified plastic surgeon is greatly reduced. While it is still possible for this to occur, a qualified
professional will most likely take responsibility and work to fix any complications that should arise.
There are several plastic surgeons out there who lack both experience and credentials, and while they may
offer a lower price for breast augmentation, they will not deliver the results you are looking
for.
-
In the end you will pay
more, but your will be much happier with your implants. Most plastic surgeons will work out payments plans
to have procedures performed on a credit, and considering the price of breast implants, you will most
likely need to take advantage of these offers.
